The theme for this cover for Poetry Magazine 2022 was "Food" so using a concrete conceptual approach to start with I used the letters in 'Poetry' I correlated each letter with a country from around the world and a significant food, drink, or dessert dish related to that country. Starting with P; Philippines, dish: Halo Halo. O; Oman, dish: Majboos. E; Ethiopia dish: Injera. T; Taiwan dish: Mango Rice. R; Romania, dish: Mititei. Y; Yemen, dish: Guava Martini. The underlying conceptual idea here was to combine dessert, meals, snacks, and drinks to create a feeling of a table of food.
